Five Soldiers
During World War 1, numerous students from the Victorian College of Pharmacy served under Sir John Monash. Several died on service, forever denied the opportunity to pursue their pharmacy career.
100 years later, the Victorian College of Pharmacy is now part of the university named after Sir John Monash. Monash University’s Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences set out to recognise the service and sacrifice of those fallen student soldiers by conferring upon them posthumous degrees. Five Soldiers documents this Remembrance process. It includes extensive interviews with the families of Sir John Monash and of the five soldiers, and explores themes relating to Australia’s national identity, the multi-generational impact of war, and the transformative power of art. Five Soldiers weaves these diverse narrative threads into a cohesive whole. The result is a finely-balanced, engaging and deeply moving story of five far-too-young men thrust into the unspeakable horrors of WW1. Rachel and Andy: A workplace Conciliation
This short educational drama explores the complexities of workplace dispute resolution.
Rachel is a conscientious employee who believes that her religious convictions have caused her to become isolated at work and, ultimately, passed over for promotion. Andy is her laid-back manager who is blissfully unaware of any exclusionary conduct on his part. Both feel aggrieved by the other’s conduct in the workplace. Through conciliation the pair seek to resolve their differences and reach an outcome which satisfies them both. The DVD: • reveals Rachel’s and Andy’s formal responses in joint sessions and their private discussions (and negotiating strategies) behind closed doors; • provides insights into the issues facing participants in a legal dispute in Australia; • illustrates that legal disputes do not take place in a vacuum and that personal and practical issues frequently lead to compromises being made by participants in the legal process. "Rachel and Andy" is an engaging and educational 20 minute film targeted at tertiary law students. Duration: 20 minutes Screenwriter, Producer, Director: Rob Sutherland

Pharmville 3052
|
"Pharmville 3052" is the brainchild of the staff at Monash University Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. Pharmville is a fictional community representing a cross-section of people in a typical Melbourne suburb. The community was created to give the Pharmacy students a realistic practice context.
The Faculty commissioned Silvereye Films to create a series of short drama films introducing each of about 30 Pharmville characters to the students. Silvereye Films assisted Monash staff with the script, then handled the process through casting and production to delivery. The Faculty also commissioned Silvereye Films to produce this documentary outlining the overall "Pharmville" concept. Further information can be found on the Monash University website. |
